Past feedback on the webinar:

  • The course  provides a very informative, thought provoking, interactive and entertaining way to study ethics.

  • It is excellent

  • Great course

  • Lots of good information - I appreciate it!

  • I enjoyed the time.

  • I like the cases and the breakout session to discuss amongst a group. The sprinkle of your personal stories and family related tales always keeps the discussion on ethics from becoming dry.

  • I found the discussion around minority shareholders to be very interesting.

  • It was interesting to hear your case on minority shareholder oppression

  • I love hearing all the different cases.

  • I liked the discussions, polls and breakout session

  • I do love the polls and discussions to really see what everyone else is thinking.

  • A great course - I left the course still running through some of the situations in my head or what I would/should do, which is a good sign that it was thought provoking!

  • Great content: very applicable to our daily finance life (I particularly liked the real estate example).

  • You managed to make a difficult topic very accessible and interesting.

  • One of the items you touched upon was really also crucial in my opinion and it is the idea of 'intent' - I have found that most of us want to do the right thing, and mistakes happen - so identifying drivers of action is crucial to fine-tune our response to potential ethical challenges.

  • I really enjoy your presentation style :)

  • I really liked the 'real-life' examples and your storytelling style (I think a good portion of what we do in finance is about communication, so this really resonated with me).

  • Wonderful course, very useful examples and very thought-provoking. As many of us have annual CPE requirements related to ethics, I am sure this will be very popular among practitioners.

  • Thank you again for (yet another) great course!!

  • I thought the course was good

  • Because you covered such a broad number of scenarios it brought forward in my some potential approaches and solutions without being too prescriptive, which was really good.

  • I really enjoyed the case that we worked on.

  • Overall the course was engaging

  • I really liked how you used real-life examples. It made Ethics feel more practical and relatable. Plus, instead of just boring lectures, the course had a more conversational tone, which made it way more engaging.

  • I feel as if we were having discussions about ethics rather than being talked about it.

  • I appreciated how you emphasized the importance of ethics in our daily lives.  We all should constantly assure that being ethical is not just some abstract concept, but something we must actively incorporate into our decision-making every day.

  • I like the case basis approach where we are presented with a situation, warning signs,  an ethical issue, and the outcomes.  I particularly liked the examples where ethical people made wrong decisions and how they learn and grew from it.  We all can improve

  • Never say never … Who would think that Ethics courses could be actually fun and engaging?

  • It is very interesting, and your presentation was engaging

  • Excellent and very engaging presentation with Indepth insight into the ETHICS as it goes

  • Good stories and good cases that are tough but realistic

  • An entertaining course with useful case studies

  • Humour!

  • Personal stories – story-telling

  • The headline method of solving ethics problems

  • Lots of stories

  • Enjoyable, practical, engaging

  • Knowing right from wrong may be easier than instilling the confidence in ourselves/our teams/families to CHOOSE right from wrong

  • I like the stories and the flow.   Easy to keep interest up.

  • Overall:  Easy to follow  and point is made.

  • Thanks again Stephen for a great webinar

  • I liked:

  • The humour

  • The real life stories

  • Hearing about your family case studies

  • The break out session to work on a case study

  • Having to discover ways through an unethical situation when quitting is not an option

  • The discussions about ethical situations other than just in accounting

  • The stories shared by the other class participants

  • Your direction to other courses or specific books to find more information about topics you touched on in this course

CPAs answer the question, is it different from other ethics courses?

  • Was the course similar to any other ethics courses you have taken by others, excluding me?

  • No, It is par excellent

  • The style was not similar to any others that I have taken.   You give far more real life examples and personal illustrations, which add to make it very interesting.   And of course no other courses that I have taken give away prizes.  😊  You also present far more material per course than the others

  • Your courses are unique and I am glad to have taken them -

  • In terms of ethics courses I’ve enjoyed what you offered.  The other ethics course I took through CPA Canada offered by another firm was a pre-recorded one and it was pretty wooden.  I don’t think anyone will accuse you of the same with your course content and delivery.

  • No it wasn’t similar to other ethics courses I have taken. I find the other courses are much more formal in nature, they are quite serious and other presenters don’t quite bring the same energy to the presentation.

  • I would say that this course stands apart from others (a bit more dry I'd say) I've taken.
